Runtime is pack watt-hours × 0.91, divided by compressor, pump, and control load. The compressor scales with the gap between ambient and comfort, then with workload, hood drag, and intensity.

The suit

Hood. Loop. Pack.

Personal AC is only useful if it lasts the shift and stays on the body. RIME splits the load: climate at the head, liquid on the torso, power on the belt.

Head-first

Climate hood

Eight to twelve litres of chilled air a minute, aimed at the temples and nape. Cooling the head is the shortest path to keeping a body at work. Open face, hard-hat, or full visor.

Closed circuit

Torso loop

Eighteen metres of 2.5 mm silicone micro-tube in the vest lining. Water-glycol at 8 °C supply, worn under or as the work layer. No ice packs. No freeze-thaw cycle.

Shift battery

Belt pack

A miniature rotary compressor on the belt, COP 2.1. Dual hot-swap packs: 432 Wh for a rated six hours, 576 Wh for eight. Tool-free. Overnight charge on 65 W USB-C PD.
